ÿþTheDeal.com executive editor Yvette Kantrow writes in her Media Maneuvers column that recent stories by the New York Times looking into allegations that Morgan Stanley CEO Stanley Mack was involved in insider trading with hedge funds and BusinessWeek looking into shenanigans by private equity firms both lack the facts that support their arguments. Kantrow wrote, But the fact that Aguirres evidence is so thin is problematic for the Times overheated coverage of this hedge fund scandal. So, BusinessWeek, tell us how you really feel. Inside is the usual smorgasbord of complaints about how buyout shops do business, from how much debt they lay on their companies to the dubious fees basket montante nike they charge to the record dividends they extract. Some private equity firm executives are being investigated for outright fraud, the magazine adds. Whom is it referring to? John A. Orecchio of AA Capital Partners Inc., a Chicago firm with 194 million under management. Not exactly Henry Kravis and his ilk. Still, an indictment is an indictment. The problem is, BusinessWeek, like the Times in the Mack case, can blow lots of charges into the air, but it cant begin to close the case. Yes, multiples are rising. True, buyout deals have gotten bigger. But even BusinessWeek feels compelled to qualify nearly every sensational charge. The story leaves the impression that BusinessWeek, like the Times, just wants to position itself for when, inevitably, something bad does happen. Read more here. Specifically, Kantrow had a problem with a comment by Tatum about what business journalism should be. Tatum criticized stories that were too inside baseball and were written for the business leaders. Dont bore readers with details about all the corporate machinations going on at troubled giants like Ford Motor Co. and General Motors Corp.; just tell them how to negotiate a good deal on their next new car. There are a couple of things that seem depressingly wrong-headed about this. First of all, Tatum seems blissfully unaware that we live in a so-called ownership society, so we are all supposedly investors now, whether through our 401(k)s at work or our IRAs at home. So if theres ever been a time for consumers to be more educated about business than less, this is it, even if it means taking some time out of their busy coupon-clipping schedules. Similarly, while Tatum advocates giving readers information they can use to find, get or keep a job, she doesnt entertain the possibility that being up on business news, including transactional horse races, could be helpful with that. Workplace trends stories are nice, but when it comes time to ask for that promotion, isnt it better, or at least equally as important, to go in armed with information about your industry and your competitors gleaned from the business press than with the latest career counselor speak? Знаете, хочется сказать спасибо свовим родителям, которые не позволили развиться во мне комплексу связанным с формой моего носа, который я если бы честно назвала бы рубильником. Недавно закончила курсы по макияжу, на которых мне давали рекомендации по верному нанесению основы под макияж и румян..Так вот, наиболее часто упоминаемой частью лица и стал мой нос…Посмотрев правде в глаза я обратилась к Котелевицу А.Г., чтобы он как профессионал дал оценку моему носу… Но, как настоящий профессионал Алексей Геннадьевич не стал рубить с плеча. При моделировании моего носика он использовал такие слова как: немного, совсем чуть-чуть, здесь все идеально, а тут ну разве что.. В результате я влюбилась в этот новый носик который так идеально подходил к моему лицу, нахожусь в предвкушении…не могу дождаться теперь операции.
